3 MONTHS!

So yesterday was Lizette's 3 month birthday. We just love our little girl. She is so cute and kissable!! We went to Woodranch for lunch for her birthday and they sang Happy Birthday. She was sleeping so she didn't have any of the ice sundae. Too bad you snooze, you loose. Then we rented The Breach, Lizette really wanted to watch it. She thought Ryan Phillippe was so cute. Then she went to bed. It was a great day.

Lizette had a visitor on her birthday. One of my best friends from Junior High, Katie Whipple, was in California for the week and she stopped by to meet Lizette. It was lots of fun to see her and catch up, and reminisce about the "good old days" and how crazy we were in Junior High. We didn't really care about anything and did tons of stupid stuff. I hope she will come and visit again soon. Well, That was our exciting day for Lizette's 3 month birthday.

Banana Hammocks & Grape Hangers

So I am starting to training for a Triathlon. So I went to the library to check out some books for suggestions on training and safety tips. So in the Triathlete Magazine's Complete Triathlon Book they have a helpful Triathlon Slang Guide. They first define the word then use it in a sentence. Here are a couple of "slang" from the book.

Banana hammock (n) An off-color term for bikini swimsuits for men. Example: "Make sure you wash my banana hammock before you return it."

Crime fighters (n) A humorous term for bikini swimsuits. Example: "Check out my new crime fighters."

Drop (v) To suddenly leave behind another cyclist on a training ride or in a race. Example: "I dropped her like a bad habit."

Fred(n) A cycling-specific term of derision synonymous with "loser." Example: " I don't want to ride with him. He's a total Fred."

Grape Hangers(n) Yet another off-color term for bikini swimsuits for men. Example: "Nice grape hangers, dude."

Anyways you get the idea, and there are a lot more funny ones. I was reading them out loud to Tyler and laughing pretty hard. I can't wait until my triathlon so I can use all the slang that I am learning.
I was kind of sad that Moose Knuckle was not in the glossary.

Marty the Manatee

When went to Florida for Thanksgiving, Tyler was snorkeling when he met a manatee named Marty. The started talking and they actually had a lot in common. They are both BYU Alumnus, they like kelp, and enjoy mountain biking. So we left Florida thinking we would never see our new found friend again. But to our surprise, when we returned to California Marty had moved….into our house. It was really helpful to have him around near the end of my pregnancy. After Lizette was born they hit it right off. Marty knew how hard the transition was for Lizette after living in liquid for so long and now being liquid deprived. I know what you are thinking, a manatee and a baby. Lizette and Marty don’t seem to mind that she is white and he is gray. They go almost everywhere together. They don't do some of the things Marty likes to do though. They really haven't gone mountain biking lately (Lizette is only a baby for cyring out loud). A couple weeks ago they went to Venice Beach and took some pictures in a photo booth. Those two crazy animals. Marty is truly a part of our family.

Happy Father's Day & Graduation

So this Father's Day we were very busy. We got up and Tyler opened his father's day card and a present from Lizette, which was Planet Earth on DVD. We made breakfast and went to sacrament. After Sacrament we left and drove to Santa Babara (about a 50 minute drive without traffic) for Tyler's Graduation. We had to be there 2 hours early for Tyler to get his cap and gown and to line up. In the meantime I tried to get some seats, boy is that hard with a baby and the baby stroller. I was trying to get a seat when people were leaving the graduation that just took place. I was fighting thru the crowd. Luckily, Tyler's friend Demis (who was working on his PHD) was there to help me. Right before the ceremony began, Tyler's parents came. The ceremony took a little over two hours. Tyler's parents left after his name was called, because they were afraid of hitting a lot of traffic. The ceremony took so long because UCSB does all the Masters and PHD from all the different colleges (example engineering, music, education, etc) in one ceremony. To call all the Master's students, it took at the most half an hour. But for the PHD they call the student's name, what college they got there degree in and who is going to hood them and then they shake hands or hug. That took the longest. So after the ceremony we took some pictures of Tyler and Lizette. We asked someone to take a picture of our family, but when I went to download the photos there were no pictures (how sad).
The funniest part of everything was that Tyler's parents left more than an hour before us and it took them 2 and a half hours to get home. But it only took Tyler and me a little under an hour and a half. Tyler knew tons of short cuts, from driving up to Santa Barbara for two years. Tyler's mom looked kind of mad that we were home 10 minutes after they walked thru the door.
I am very proud of my Tyler. He is a wonderful husband and father and I am very happy that we are an eternal family. Thank you Tyler for all that you do for our family. You have always been way cooler than me (Yeah right, no one is going to believe that, because I am so bangorang! - you get the joke I know you do.) LOVE YOU TYLER.

My Two Diaper Bags

So I have to write about my two diaper bags. I love both of my diaper bags but for different reasons. The one on the left is for when I go somewhere quick: like the store, or to run some errands, etc. I like it because it looks like a regular purse. But it comes with a changing bag and has pockets all in the inside. So I don't have to carry such a big bag when I am only going to be gone for a couple of hours. The second one is for when I will be somewhere longer than a couple of hours, or if I drop Lizette off with someone. It fits a lot more things. I also keep special things like my nursing cover in there as well. Not to mention that they are both super cute.
The question is: Am I completely crazy for having two diaper bags?

We also had a lunch with family and some close friends.

Lizette's friends Milana and Chloe came to the baby blessing as well.

Really Cheap Like Daddy

Here is a disclaimer. I am froogle. I clip coupons and buy mostly everything on sale. (IE Bought some baby products from the store that came to $35.00 but only paid $5.00 due to coupons and sales)But I will save up money to purchase something nice. But Tyler is CHEAP. He has made statements in the past that he doesn't want to buy our kids toys because they don't really play with them and he didn't get any toys growing up and he turned out just fine. For example, he had a limited amount of legos and instead of asking for more for christmas he would take the legs off of the lego men and pretend that they were small lego (leg) men.

So, lately Tyler bought a toilet off of Craig's List for $20 instead of asking our landlord for a new one. I felt really ghetto for Tyler going to somebody's house and buying their toilet. I understand we have lived in apartments and houses where the toilets were used before we rented the place, but buying a used toilet from someone seems funny. Especially when we could have asked the landlord for a new one. Lately, Lizette has only been playing with her burp cloth. She likes to put it in her mouth and coo. Even though she has plenty of baby toys to play with she prefers the burp cloth. It's like she knows that the burp cloth was really cheap! I have a feeling she is going to be cheap just like her daddy.

I EAT PEOPLE

She has claimed two lives already. Look at that face. She is not fooling anyone.
