Better Housewife

Tyler was home for 2 weeks after Anders was born. Since all I did was feed Anders and nothing else - since I couldn't lift anything over 10 pounds. Tyler was deep cleaning the house and taking care of Lizette. Sometimes I think that Tyler would be a better housewife than me. He was cleaning everything and taking care of Lizette and changing all of Anders' diapers. I just had to think: I have been pregnant for 9 months and now I just had major surgery. He just has way more energy than me at the moment. Lizette really enjoyed having Tyler home. They went to the park, played outside, and went swimming a lot. He is truly a great dad and husband. I feel blessed to have such an amazing husband, even though sometimes he out cleans me.

Additions

We got a new addition to our family on August 21st at 8:48pm. Anders Hamilton Barton was born. He was 8 lbs 9 ounces and was 23 1/2 inches long. It was a rough delivery, but we are glad that he is here. I went to my doctor's appointment at 3:30. My mother in law was supposed to watch Lizette, but I couldn't get a hold of her. So I ended up taking Lizette with me to my appointment. I had Tyler meet me at the doctor's office so Lizette wouldn't have to go into the room while the doctor checked me. When the doctor saw me, she told me that I was in active labor and that I was dilated between a five and a six and that I needed to go the hospital right away. I went home to get my bag ready, and to get Lizette's bag ready. Then we dropped Lizette off at Tyler's parents house.

At 5:00 my doctor called asking where I was. I told her that I was on my way to the hospital. She thought that maybe I wasn't in labor, because I wasn't rushing to get to the hospital. So they check me and I was at a six and my contractions were every 2 minutes apart. My doctor, Dr. Ferro, ended up breaking my water. I was happy that my labor was going really well. Lizette's delivery was kind of a nightmare. So I was excited that I was progressing on my own and I looked like it wasn't going to be a long delivery. When Dr. Ferro broke my water, she noticed that there was poop in the water. She looked a little worried, and said that she was glad we were delivering the baby. She told me she was going to go home for dinner and be back in an hour. When she was at home, she was looking at mine and the baby's vitals on the computer online. She didn't like the way the were looking so she had them start me on pitocin. At that point I had to get an epidural, because the pitocin was AWFUL. When she got to the hospital, she called a specialist for the baby and the baby's pediatrician. She noticed that mine and the baby's heart beat was dropping really low. By 8:00 I was dilated to a 10, but I didn't really feel the need to push quite yet. She wanted the baby out right away, so I was pushing and she turned off my epidural. Then my blood pressure started getting really low 60 over 30. They gave me 5 shots of ephedrine, but it was not going up at all. At that time she had them call for the anesthesiologist to get there right away. It felt like there were a million people in the room. She then called for a crash c-section. She told the nurses to call any doctor that was able to come and help until another obgyn got there.

They had me sign my life away while they were wheeling me into the operating room. The doctor told me that we needed to get him out right away, and that this is the way that it HAD to be and that she was sorry that it wasn't the delivery that I wanted. Tyler was really calm, which I was really grateful for. I was freaking out a little...okay that is a lie. I was really freaking out A LOT. They didn't separate Tyler and I at all. Tyler practically got dressed into scrubs in the operating room. And there were tons of people setting up for the c-section. As soon as I was numb, they started the c section. It felt really weird being so numb. In the rush of everything they forgot to strap my arms down and they kept falling off the table. As soon as the baby was born, I told Tyler to go with him. The anesthesiologist was so nice. He told me that everything was going well and he was wiping away my tears. It seemed like forever, they were still finishing me up and the pediatrician came in and hugged my face and told me that he was beautiful and everything looked great. Dr Ferro told me that everything was going well, and another reason why I could push him out was because the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and his body numerous times. She also told me that it would take me a longer time to recover because I pushed and had a c-section.

I feel very grateful that we had such amazing doctors on hand and that everything worked out. While we were in the hospital, Anders was not a happy camper until Tuesday, when my milk came in. Lizette also came and visited us a couple of times and she LOVES her little brother. He got her a special gift. A couple of sets of princess shoes, which she also LOVES. I feel very grateful and lucky that Anders is apart of our family. And that Lizette loves him very much..

SEVEN YEARS

Yesterday, August 9th, Tyler and I have been married for SEVEN years. I can't believe that it has been seven years of happy marriage bliss. Tyler is truly a great husband and father. I couldn't ask for a better spouse. He puts up with so much, especially now that I am LARGE with child and HIGHLY emotional. He is so willing to pick up all that is slacking in the house, and that dinner is rarely made these days, and when I am acting crazy pregnant that he contemplates taking all the sharp objects from our house when he is at work, so I won't hurt myself (j/k - 60/40).

We celebrated our anniversary a day early, Saturday. Tyler was so nice and took Lizette for the whole morning so I could rest and get some stuff done around the house. After nap time, we took Lizette to Tyler's sister, Holly, where she was also watching Lizette's cousin, Chloe. Lizette was so excited. Tyler and I then went to the Cheesecake Factory (we had a gift card) then we went to see a movie (we had another gift card). I was so uncomfortable, my back was hurting. Then we came home and went straight to sleep. I was so tired. I know it isn't too exciting, but what to you expect, I am a couple of weeks from delivering a baby.

I still can't believe that Tyler asked me out 8 1/2 years ago. I can't believe that we have been married for 7 years, and I can't believe that we have a 2 year old and expecting a second baby. We are definitely getting old. At least I am getting old with someone who loves me for who I am, even with all my faults and vice versa.

Here are the only pictures that we have when were dating, one from a road show- that night he proposed - HOT ORANGE SUIT, I KNOW.
And the other one we are wearing outfits from thrift stores.

HERE IS TO MY BESTFRIEND (j/k Cristin) Here is to the only one who would make out with me.
