Party Palace

So I need to rant for a couple of minutes. Yesterday I opened my front door and I noticed that there were 4 cars parked out in my drive way. I thought that it was really weird and I thought that I would give them a couple of seconds to move. About 45 minutes later I was getting Lizette's things together so we could go run a couple of errands and the 4 trucks were still there. I was really annoyed. I know that Tyler and I live in a ghetto house but who parks in someone else's drive way for almost an hour... It isn't like there isn't room on the street for them to park. I finally asked them to leave because I needed to leave the house. About 15 minutes later they were all gone. I just thought it was so rude. Then I was thinking that maybe they thought that the house was abandoned, but my car was parked out front. I just was really upset that people would do that. I would never park in someone else driveway, only if I get permission..

So our house that we are renting is really little, about 640 sq feet, but at least the rent is cheap (for socal), and I can stay home with Lizette and still work the Dave Ramsey Plan... Someone from my ward told us a story on how he went to a party and it was at our house (about 20 years ago) and his brother threw up on the floor somewhere in the house.. The carpet that was in the house was 25 plus years old. So needless to say we asked for the carpet to be changed shortly after. About a month ago we met some new members who moved into our ward, and they live 2 houses down. I told them that we lived on the same street, I told them that we had the really long gravel driveway. They told me that they were wondering about that house. I told them not to worry that it wasn't a drug dealer's house. And the husband said, don't worry drug dealers have nicer houses, and we laughed, because it is true.

I took a couple of pictures of our house that we are renting. I am standing on the other side of the street with the zoom lense and you can barley see Tyler waving.

Don't forget who made living in the party palace cool...It's ok I forgive you because you introduced me to my boyfriend, Dave Ramsey. Who moved onto Grandview and which house are they renting?

That is weird. Were the people sitting in their trucks in their driveway? How did you know where to find them to tell them to move?

Yeah... the funny thing about the Grandview house is that I always thought it looked way better from the outside than the inside. I don't know how we lived there for over a year with that crummy carpet. How is it going babyproofing the place for Lizette?

It's pretty obvious that it's your driveway and not somebody else's. I hate it when people do things like that. Kind of like when we were in Wymount and some visitor always parked in our spot! Arrgh!

Maybe it because I never stayed there for longer than a week- but I never thought your house was bad. I like how it is so far away from the street. really gives you a lot of privacy.

and yeah- that is SOOO RUDE to park in somebodies driveway!

You are such a diva! The people in your driveway just wanted to be part of the magic that is Grandview! BTW, I called your cell at 6pm tonight and some guy (not Tyler) answered "Doris' house." I asked for you, but he said that the phone was in her house and he seemed confused. If you don't want to talk, just let me go to voice mail next time!

I'm really weirded out that people were parked in your driveway and it still took them 15 minutes to leave once you asked them to. Maybe it's because I've lived in Provo for so long, but the house doesn't look that bad. . . And shouldn't someone wait a little longer until they've gotten to know you to say they've been wondering about your house and that drug dealers have nicer houses? Maybe they could've waited a few months or until after you've had dinner together. . .

Your house is great! It just has character. Were those guys working around your house or something? That is bizarre. I had a guy jump in my backyard yesterday and then move my trash cans trying to get to our cable box. I asked who he was and he said "phone company" and I was like, that's funny, my husband works for the phone co...He was a contracter, but I thought it odd that he didn't ask either, just helped himself into the yard. Maybe it was the same guy!

I would have probably gotten all witchy on those people. Grrr, how rude. I have a long driveway too (not as long as yours though) and the neighborhood kids love to play on it, but it freaks me out because I would hate it if they fell on my property then some psycho court-happy parent would try to sue me...so I yell at the kids to go away :P Problem solved!

That is soo rude. I would have been so mad. Who do they think they are?
Also your place isn't that bad. I know it is small, but it is not as bad as my last place. The dry wall was so thin that when Drew's brother leaned on it he made a big hole in the wall.

Candace, I think that little house is so cute. I'll have to show you pictures of Uncle John's and my first two homes in Utah....they were small and had lots of personality, too. You have a great little place...enjoy it for now and you will look back with good memories when you have your mansion all paid for with cash. "Live like no else, so later you can LIVE like no one else"! You are doing it right....
