SIX MONTHS

So Yesterday was Lizette's six month birthday. It has seriously gone by so quickly, it just seems like yesterday we brought her home from the hospital.

Lizette had her six month check up on Tuesday, she weighs 18 pounds and is 27 3/4 inches long. So she is in the 100 percentile for height and 80 percentile for weight. And the doctor said that I could start feeding her solids if we wanted. Tyler has been looking forward to feeding her solids for a long time. He has been just waiting for my go ahead. I finally told him that, we could start her on rice cereal on her six month birthday. Tyler wanted to be the one to feed her solids for the first time. She did great. She would have this look on her face like what are you feeding me, but she would continue to eat more. She ate a good amount. (The doctor warned me that I can't feed her too much of the rice cereal or it will make her constipated. Valerie also called and warned me that the baby will cry and be very fussy if she is constipated...and that scared me more than the doctors warning.) (The doctor also warned me that Lizette will be crawling in about two weeks...AND THAT WAS THE SCARIEST THING OF ALL)

Lizette also got two really good gifts for her birthday. First, The Office season premiere, which was pretty funny. But her favorite was seeing her cousin Chloe. She loves playing with her, and touching her, but Chloe is too fast for Lizette. Don't you worry, Lizette will be able to follow her around the house in no time and then they will be fighting over toys...It is so much fun to see Lizette interact with other babies. She seems so fascinated by them. Well over all it was a good day.

Dinner at Faria

A week ago, Doris' best friend Kathryn came down from Canada to visit. Kathryn came all the way from Canada so she could go camping at the beach (and I think to see Lizette. She says she doesn't bond with children, but I think she is lying through her teeth). Doris had her travel trailer parked at Faria Beach so they could spend a couple of days there. So Tyler, Lizette and I went to Faria beach to eat dinner with them. Bedstemor and Bedstefar came to eat dinner as well. We had a blast. Lizette loved the beach and her Aunt Kathryn and Bedstes. We love spending time with friends and family. Here are some pictures of Lizette with Tyler at the beach, some pictures of Lizette with her great-grandparents, and Lizette got too excited and fell asleep at dinner.

I am still trying to figure out my camera, even though I have had it for six months. The pictures of Tyler and Lizette at the beach turned out a little dark...

Such Great Talent

I just thought I would post some pictures of the quilt my Aunt Gayle made for Auntie Doris. It is such an amazing quilt and has such awesome detail. I could never dream of making something that creative. Aunt Gayle helped me make a blanket for Tyler when we were dating (six plus years ago). I also made a blanket for Tyler for when he holds Lizette, but it is nothing compared to Aunt Gayle's work. Maybe one day I can make something half as good.

(click on the picture to get a close up to see all the amazing detail work that Aunt Gayle did. Each square has something to do with Doris, ex:Camping at Carpinteria, Doris' tea parties, Doris business, etc, etc)

**Sorry the only picture that I found of the blanket I made for Tyler-Lizette is with Lizette on it**
**Tyler did stuff wipes in her diaper to make her butt look big**

CUTIE

Here are a couple pictures of our cutie riding a tricycle with Daddy's help. I am just so in love with our baby. I think she is the cutest thing ever. When I see commercials on TV, I think my baby is so much cuter than that. I know this sounds kind of mean, I just think my baby and my friends' babies (everyone who reads this blog) are just the cutest things ever.
So Lizette is really close to crawling, and she is only five and a half months to the date. She gets up her hands and knees and rocks back and forth. Today while we were eating dinner, she got on her hands and knees and then she went for it, she tried to crawl by doing a flying leap but did a face plant. It was funny, we laughed, then she cried. She is just everywhere. I will set her down and five minutes later she will be on the other side of the room. She just rolls so fast and does the crawling backwards thing. I am excited that she is going to crawl, but I am also dreading it a little because our place is so small.

Late Labor Day Pictures

We had a great Labor day. Lizette slept until 9:00am. Usually, Tyler and I sleep in until 8:00 am at the latest, even before we had a baby. But Tyler had the day off and I was really tired. I woke up at 6:00 and read then went back to sleep. We went to Tyler's parents house so Tyler could help them with their pool filter. Then we decided to go to the beach. We went to Faria State Beach to met up with my aunt & uncle and their family. We got there about noon. And it was so crowded. We finally found my family, and we were sitting up against the rocks. There was no room. About 45 minutes later, after I fed Lizette and started to get situated. It was high tide and a wave got all our stuff wet. I was so sad. We then packed up because the high tide was coming in.
We then went to my Aunt Gayle and Uncle Peter's house for a family swim party. We had lots of fun. Lizette loves the water. She loves splashing. The water was so nice. It was the perfect temperature. Lizette is definitely a water baby. Lizette liked to paddle on the boogie board, swim with Daddy, and play chicken with Luke. I think that Luke definitely had the advantage, being twice the size of Lizette. There are also pictures of my cousin's son Wyatt. He is such the little dare devil. He jumps off the side of the pool about a five foot jump. I think that is pretty brave for an almost three year old boy. I feel very fortunate to have family close by. I love spending time with both of our families, to create such wonderful memories for Lizette.

By the way, Tyler held his breath underwater for 2:45!!!! Wowie what a hunk!!!

Butterfly Kisses

So yesterday, we went to the Santa Barbara Natural Museum of History with Erik, Cristin, and Lukie Lassen. It has been at least 10 years since I have gone, and I have been wanting to go for a while now, so I was really excited about going. I was also excited that the Lassen family was going to go with us. On the way up to Santa Barbara, no one knew how to get to the museum. So I called Grammy and Grampy Hall and they gave us directions. When we got to the museum we first saw the Grossology exhibit. That was neat. It talked about all the gross things your body does. Luke was so cute pressing all the buttons he could. Then we went to an insect, with a lots of dead insect. The next thing we went to was the Butterflies Alive Exhibit. That was really neat. It was a mesh room that was full of butterflies. Lizette tried to make friends with the butterflies but we didn't let her touch any, because she might have stiff armed them. By the end of the museum, Lizette had too much excitement for the day.
