Awful Lunch

I have been working hard on a "project" the last couple of days. The other day Tyler came home for lunch and asked what he was having. I told him that I was busy and to make his own lunch and this is what he made.

Ingredients:
Carrots
Rice
Spaghetti Sauce
Sliced Chicken Breast
Queso Cheese
Parmesan Cheese
Italian Dressing

He ate the hole thing, and he liked it.. I didn't want to try it...

It kind of reminds me of Cristin's experimental meals, expect her meals were NEVER EVER like this.

7 Months

So yesterday was Lizette's seven month birthday. To celebrate we went to visit her cousin, Chloe. They had lots of fun playing together. Lizette would only get mad when someone would steal her toy. But overall it was a very good day. Today Lizette was able to see her friend Milana. She is so cute, but we made them do a baby race. We put Lizette and Milana down the hallway then we opened up our cellphones and called their names to see which one could crawl the fastest. Lizette let Milana have a head start, but at the end Lizette blew Milana away. As you can see in one of the pictures Milana was playing dirty by trying to hold on to Lizette as she passed, but Lizette still passed her. Milana was a sore loser and started to cry. Granted Milana is two days younger than Lizette, but there is no need to cry over it. When we left Milana got over her pride and waved bye to Lizette.

Lizette has changed so much in the last month it is crazy. She is now crawling all over the place. She is getting faster and faster each day. This last Monday Lizette started to sit up all by herself. It is so cute she crawls around and then she will sit up to play with one of her toys. She has also started to wave to people. Last, but not least, Somewhere between last night and Sunday evening Lizette is getting her first tooth. It just broke through her gums. She had a rough night last night but now it makes sense, she is definitely teething. She was a little moody, but besides that she was great. I didn't even give her Tylenol. She is one tough and cute baby.

Here our some pictures of Lizette sitting up, Lizette with Chloe, and the baby race with Milana. I am trying to post a video of her crawling.. Once I figure that out I will upload that.

Traveling

So I have to complain about traveling for a minute. I flew by myself with Lizette out of Santa Barbara, which was nice since it was such a small airport. But when I get on a plane with Lizette, everyone said, "I hate when there is a baby on the plane", "I hope they don't sit by me", "That baby better not make any noise", etc.. I wanted to say, "I can HEAR you!" But that was alright Lizette was wonderful flying! She slept on the first plane, and half of the second plane. She was the greatest.

But yesterday when we where flying home, we got to the Iowa airport on time and they said that there was a little delay. Which was fine, but an hour after we where suppose to take of they finally went over the PA and said that our flight was canceled and that everyone has to go back to the ticket booth to get re-routed. It was like a rat race. Everyone was running as fast as they could to the ticket booth. Tyler ran and we were fourth in line, but about 40 minutes later, we finally got to the ticket booth. It took about25 minutes to try to find a way to get back to California. They finally found a way. Tyler and I had to take separate flights to Fort Worth, Texas (2 hour flight). Then after a four hour lay over, we got (on the same flight) to Santa Barbara, a three and a half hour flight. So we were supposed to be in California at 11:20 am but instead got home at 9:31 pm. We were traveling for 17.5 hours from start at the airport to home in California. Lizette did great, she wanted to crawl (YES, SHE IS CRAWLING AT 6 1/2 MONTHS) but we wouldn't let her. I think I was more annoyed than she was. But needless to say we are glad to be home and I don't want to travel for awhile.

Since I've Been Gone

I know it has been a while, but Lizette and I went to Iowa last Saturday to visit Grandpa and Grandma Hall. Tyler joined us later on Wednesday. It rained everyday except for the last two days (Friday and Saturday), but I enjoy the rain. I got to see some old neighbors. Their daughter, Anna, had a baby about a month after I had Lizette. Her little girl, Scarlett, was so cute. I forgot my camera, but luckily Anna took some pictures. I will post those later. Then I got to see some of my best friends from high school, Katie and Sara. It was nice to see them. They made high school bearable. We did tons of crazy things and it was fun to reminisce. I was glad they were able to meet Lizette, and to see how cute she is in person. We did go shopping at the newest mall while I was there. I really wanted to go to Dillard's, they are the only ones that have my favorite shoes- Gianni Bini. So I was excited. I budgeted it in so that I could get a pair of boots and shoes. I just had to unbudget Tyler's fun. I was able to find two great shoes. Mission Accomplished. And our last day we when to the Zoo for Spooky Eyes (where kids and go and trick or treat). We had a great time..

FF: The Baby-Sitters Club

This picture makes me laugh. This is a picture of Tyler and his sister Ashley "babysitting" their nephew, Nick. Nick doesn't look that happy. I love that Tyler has a smirk on his face, while his nephew is crying, and Ashley has her hand on her hip. I also love that they are pushing Nick around the pool. Doesn't that seem dangerous to anyone else??

Baby Carrots

So today, Lizette tried carrots for the first time. It didn't seem to go over quite as well as I would have liked, but ohh well. At least she likes oatmeal. I try to trick her by feeding her a couple bites of oatmeal then sneak some bites of carrots. She gets a little annoyed because she loves oatmeal but not some much of the other stuff.
I know the picture looks like it is all on her bib, but trust me she ate some bites of food...

Crawling???

So Tyler and I have been debating...What is officially "crawling"? Tyler says that she is crawling and I don't think that what she is doing is crawling. Lizette has been moving all over the place (by moving she is rolling everywhere and scooting. She will be on one side of the room and five minutes she will be on the otherside. She has been doing this for about 3 weeks). Lizette will also takes two to three strides, then she will fall to her stomach and try again. I think that she is moving, but that is it.. Crawling in my mind is continuous crawling without breaks.. It also means that it is a lot faster than moving. Maybe I just don't want to admit that she is crawling, because that means that my life is OVER.... If I have a baby that is crawling EVERYWHERE that means it is going to be that much harder to take a shower, get ready, and do, practically anything else. I just don't think I am ready for a crawling baby. Don't most babies start crawling at 8-9 months and not 6 month and 1 week old???

Sweet Pea

So we gave peas to Lizette last night. She didn't seem to like them at all, but then again she did the same thing with the rice and oatmeal and now she loves them. I made her eat a couple of bites of peas then gave her some oatmeal. Then I would make her eat a couple of more bites of peas. She would make the funniest face when we gave her peas after the oatmeal.. Right now I am only feeding her one serving of solids a day, when do you start feeding a second. Lizette seems content with just the one feeding, and she definitely doesn't look like she is starving. My pediatrician told me not to stress out to much about it and that I will know when to start feeding her more solids. She told me that they are doing a lot more studies that show that a child can live off of just breast milk for a year and be completely healthy. She just wants me to make sure that she isn't losing lots of weight, and to keep up her calorie intake. I think I just need not to worry about it.
