Crawling???
So Tyler and I have been debating...What is officially "crawling"? Tyler says that she is crawling and I don't think that what she is doing is crawling. Lizette has been moving all over the place (by moving she is rolling everywhere and scooting. She will be on one side of the room and five minutes she will be on the otherside. She has been doing this for about 3 weeks). Lizette will also takes two to three strides, then she will fall to her stomach and try again. I think that she is moving, but that is it.. Crawling in my mind is continuous crawling without breaks.. It also means that it is a lot faster than moving. Maybe I just don't want to admit that she is crawling, because that means that my life is OVER.... If I have a baby that is crawling EVERYWHERE that means it is going to be that much harder to take a shower, get ready, and do, practically anything else. I just don't think I am ready for a crawling baby. Don't most babies start crawling at 8-9 months and not 6 month and 1 week old???

I don't know... Luke started really crawling around 6 months, but he was doing the "army crawl" for a little while before that. I'm surprised she hasn't done that first. Maybe she is just too advanced to do something as silly as the army crawl. I bet she'll be doing it continuously by the end of this week and then she'll be officially crawling.
Good luck with your life now.
I hate to break it to you, but the "experts" (from one of those baby books I read) have redefined crawling as being able to get around by any workable means. (not those exact words) So . . . congratulations, Lizette, and good luck Mommy!
If you're really worried about it for the baby book (and I only say that b/c that's how I am) then just put "moving" at age 6 months then "real crawl" whenever she does the real thing. In Owen's baby book it has "moving", "army crawl" and "crawling". We also put "took first steps" and "walking" b/c he took his first steps a month before he was really walking. Like Cristin said, good luck.
If she starts at one end of the room and ends up on the other "somehow" then she might be apparating!! Just a thought, are you sure she isn't using magic?
I think there is the beginning crawl which can be the army crawl or the worm/prayer crawl, then they learn how to crawl normal. Chloe started doing the worm crawl in her 6th month where she would hold her hands together like she is praying lift your butt up and move forward. She started to crawl normally at 8 months.
Buwah ha ha! Oh wait, my kid is practically crawling as well :(
It's the beginning of the end... you don't want your kid crawling, believe me. Keep her on her back so she isn't tempted to learn! BEWARE, your life is about to get much, MUCH WORSE!
I love looking at your blog and seeing all the things I have to look forward to. However, this one I can definitely wait for! Have fun!!
