Warning this may be too graphic for young childrenLast night, Lizette woke up around 4 am. While I was putting her back to sleep, my mind was wandering, then I started to think about the moldy doll. So here is the story..
A couple of years ago, I would say about three, Tyler's family got together for a baby blessing. Tyler's sister Tricia was in town with her 2 children and she was staying with Tyler's parents, and Tyler and I were renting a room out from his parents at the time. Tricia's daughter brought a doll from Grandma and Grandpa Barton's home to play with during church. She was playing with it and was chewing on the hands and feet, (Why do kids put EVERYTHING in their mouths?) Drew, Ashley's life partner, noticed that their was MOLD all over the doll. GROSS. It was a very old doll, I think Tyler's mom, has had it for a very long time. So after church Drew brought it to everyone's attention. Tyler's mom just put it in the guest bedroom closet. But that was a no go because the kids were still getting it, and putting it in their mouth. GROSS. This made everyone grossed out especially Drew and Tyler. Tyler and Drew tried putting it in a plastic bag and throw the doll away, but I think Diane caught them. So without any options in their minds, they decided to destroy the moldy doll so the grandkids, and their future kids would not play with the gross moldy doll.
So some of the brother in laws and Tyler decided to take the doll for a ride in the car. On the way to their destination Drew opened the car door while the car was moving and proceeded to grid the dolls face on the asphalt. Then they decided to go to Charlie's (one of Tyler's Brother in Law's) Dad's house to torture the doll. They tried putting fire crackers on the doll, and light them. But then they got the idea to torch the doll. Needless to say the doll was toast.
So the men came home, and showed their spouses what they did to the moldy doll. Tyler's parents where in the backyard on the porch swing, so Ashley had a plan that everyone would go outside and drop the doll so Bruce and Diane could see what happened to the doll and not blame one single person. So that is exactly what they did. The only thing we forgot was that the grandkids were out there. So Tricia's daughter, came up to the doll and just repeated, "What happened to the dolly?" (That made us feel HORRIBLE). Bruce picked up the doll and threw it in the trash, and when to his bedroom. Bruce hardly ever gets mad, so everyone cleaned up and left within 15 minutes, and I wanted to go with them, but we were living there... Ten minutes later everyone went and said sorry to Bruce, then he came out of the bedroom and was fine. I think he was just mad because the grandkids had to see the burnt doll and Diane cried. I don't think everyone realized how much she loved that doll.
