Happy Happy Birthday.

TODAY IS LIZETTE'S BIRTHDAY...I honestly can't believe that Lizette is ONE YEAR OLD. Today, all I thought about is how exactly one year ago my life changed. Now that this precious little girl entered my life, I can't imagine it without her. She is such a neat little person. I am so happy that she is a part of our family.

Her are some facts about Lizette:

  • She has four teeth
  • She eats ANYTHING, one of her favorite foods is pepper jack cheese and gravel
  • She opens her mouth as wide as she can when she gives kisses
  • Her favorite stuffed animal is Tigger, just like Tyler, still.
  • She loves books
  • She loves to wave bye and blow kisses
  • She loves pulling everything out of drawers
  • She loves taking baths
I made a little video of pictures for each month through out the past year.

Happy Birthday Lizette

Beach Day

So on Monday, Lizette and I met up with Aunt Ashley and Chloe at the beach. We were there for about 3 hours, and we had so much fun. Lizette's favorite things at the beach were the sand, the toys, and Aunt Ashley's beach chair! Lizette loved loved loved Aunt Ashley's beach chair. The moment Aunt Ashley wasn't in her chair she would go in and climb on it and turn around and just talk and talk. And if Aunt Ashley was sitting in her chair, she would want her to hold her. Aunt Ashley was very nice and let Lizette play on her chair. I can't believe how much fun Lizette had. It just makes me more excited for the summer time. I already know that this summer is only going to be better than the last. This year Lizette is so much more mobile, and I don't have to pack NEARLY as much stuff to go to the park or the beach. Aunt Ashley mentioned going to the beach every week and I know that we go to the beach at least once a week. I was really conscientious about putting sunscreen on Lizette. I think I put it on her about every hour, but I forgot to have Ashley reapply sunscreen to my back, so I got burnt. I am just grateful that it was me and not Lizette that got sunburned..

Easter Sunday

So Easter this year was a lot different than last year. Lizette was really cute in her Easter dress and she really enjoyed finding her Easter eggs with goldfish and animal crackers. She loved to shake them. She would get really sad when we took them away so she could find her other eggs. I know that next year she is going to love Easter even more, so she could eat all the candy she can get her little hands on. I am happy that this year goldfish and animal crackers is the best thing she could think of. Today she was so funny, she would bring me one of her eggs and point at it until I would open it and let her eat the goldfish. It is the funniest thing. She would get really confused when I opened an Easter egg with nothing in it.

Walking

Lizette has been walking for a while now, but when I turned on the camera or if we were trying to show someone, without fail she wouldn't walk. Last Sunday, for my birthday, all I wanted was hard proof (video) that she was indeed walking. So Tyler and I worked on it and she would just take a couple of steps and fall. She can take about 20-30 steps before falling. So after her bath and right before bed we tried again. And she did it. She also waived bye and blew kisses. It was the best Birthday present ever. I am so proud of her. Everyday she is walking more and more, just in the last week she is walking more than crawling, just barely. I just can't believe on how big she is getting. She is truly the funniest little girl ever. The only way to get her to walk to me while the camera is turned on, was to turn the view screen around so she could see herself. So funny...

Saturday, is a special day...

So today was a great day... We started the day with Tyler making Lizette and me breakfast, then we went to the farmer's market, after getting some vegetables for the week. We then decided to go to the library. We have been talking about taking Lizette for a while now, but we always forget or never have enough time. So we finally went. Lizette loved walking around the children's area, and she loved touching all the books. She just LOVES books. They built a new Camarillo Library about a year ago, and it is really cool. The children's area is HUGE. They have a ship mast, with a crows nest, and a plastic parrot. Tyler noticed that they really paid attention to detail. They had fake bird ca ca, at least I hope that it was fake. I think Lizette and I are going to go the library more often. We stayed there for at least an hour and a half. Tyler and I check out some books and movies. We are definitely going to make it a family outing. I want Lizette to really enjoy reading and there is no better way then reading to her.

A Very Merry Unbirthday

So a year ago today was suppose to be Lizette's birthday, but she decided that she would come 7 days later by force (Pitocin). Today, I have been thinking about everything that was going on exactly a year ago, boy, it has all gone by in a flash. I honestly don't know where time has gone. Now my baby is getting so big, and getting her own little personality.

So today, we took Luke and Lizette to the park. They had lots of fun. Lizette loved trying to eat the sand. Lizette was very fascinated with Luke. While they were swinging on the swing together, she would look over at him and smile and laugh. It is so funny. She is the sweetest little girl and I am so happy that we have her.

Just Like Cristin.

Cute Dog right? Lizette got a dog from her grandparents for her upcoming birthday. You can record a message by holding down the right paw, then to play back the message you just press the left paw. When we got the package, I accidentally grabbed it by the right paw and deleted the message that her grandparents left. Anywho, Tyler has been having fun with it ever since. Tyler has recorded the message (just play the video below) at first Lizette didn't know what to think. Now she is like, whatever dad. It made me think, did Cristin have a dog like this growing up, and is this why she is deathly afraid of dogs. I hope Lizette doesn't end up being terrified of dogs, just because Tyler thinks it is funny.....

MANCALA

For one of our wedding gifts, someone gave us the game Mancala (we didn't register for it). I seriously hadn't played the game since third grade. For the first year of our marriage almost every Sunday, Tyler and I would play Mancala for hours. Tyler would be really close to winning and he would be really smug and just mutter, "Mancala, Mancala, Mancala." I would get really mad and tip over the whole game so he couldn't say he won. (Mature I know).

So on Saturday, Tyler was going through our closet and found our game box and pulled out the game Mancala. I almost forgot that we had it. We have played it almost every night since. I really forgot how much fun it is. It is a really quick game and it is only about luck. And surprisingly enough I don't get nearly as mad, or Tyler is not nearly as smug when he wins. You choose.

Lizette & Daddy

Lizette loves playing with her Daddy. Tyler will call Lizette's name and she thinks it is so funny when she surprises him. It is close to her bedtime when we took this video, usually she is laughing a lot harder...

What a week....

This has been a very stressful week for Lizette (and me). She is getting her top two teeth and has had a really bad cold/fever. Then on Thursday she took a really bad fall and hurt her head. I rushed her to her pediatrician's office, where Tyler met us. The doctor checked her out then sent us to a place 20 minutes away to get some x-rays of her skull to make sure that there was no fracture. After waiting in the waiting room for over an hour (And people looking at her then at us and pointing to her head, I wanted to scream, WHY DO YOU THINK WE ARE HERE?) . We finally got called back to get the x-rays done. Tyler held Lizette down while she was getting her x-rays. I was out in the hall. SHE WAS SO MAD. She was screaming bloody murder. We waited around for the doctor there to read them, fortunately she did not have a fracture. The x-ray doctor and her pediatrician wanted us to wake Lizette up every two hours to make sure that she could open her eyes. On Friday she wanted us to observe her all day to make sure that she was acting normal, ie. crawling, walking, talking, eating. If not she needed a MRI as soon as possible, because x-rays can only detect broken bones and not blood leaks into the brain...(SCARY) Luckily, Lizette was back to herself on Friday. We were both really tired from not getting a good night rest.
I have been putting some homeopathic pain relief on her bump (I am switching between Arnica and Trumeel). The next day the bump was almost all the way gone, and the bruising has gone down tremendously. It isn't as noticeable as it was on Thursday.. I am so happy that all is alright and that Lizette is back to acting like the Diva she is...j/k.

Farmers Market

I LOVE THE FARMERS MARKET. I say this almost every week. We walk to the Farmers Market almost every Saturday. I love going to buy my fruits and vegetables for the week. Everything just seems so fresh and I feel like it last a lot longer than stuff from the grocery store and it is cheaper. All the stuff in the picture (minus the baby) we got for $14. If I didn't get the strawberries and the blueberries it would have been under $6. I think that is pretty amazing. Tyler LOVES the carrots. Every time he takes a bite he says, "This is what a REAL carrot should taste like." It makes me laugh every time.

(Tyler is holding on to Lizette's back. So she is not sitting on the counter without parental control)
